Ijury Roundup: Bears’ Chandler leaves with sprained left ankle

The Chicago Bears’ injury problems at quarterback keep mounting.

Chris Chandler sprained his left ankle in the third quarter against the Detroit Lions. He was replaced by Jim Miller, who has been bothered by tendinitis in his throwing elbow.

Falcons linebacker John Holecek broke his right arm against Carolina. Panthers linebackers Dan Morgan and Hannibal Navies also were injured.

St. Louis Rams starting left guard Tom Nutten broke his leg early in the second half against the Redskins.

Washington cornerbacks Fred Smoot (bruised lower back) and Darrell Green (bruised hip) were injured in the fourth quarter, but Smoot returned to the game.

Bengals kick returner Brandon Bennett hyperextended his right knee against the Steelers and Pittsburgh RG Kendall Simmons injured his right knee.

Baltimore left guard Edwin Mulitalo aggravated a back strain in warmups and didn’t play against the Titans. Tennessee S Rich Coady and WR Kevin Dyson injured their hamstrings.

Browns CB Daylon McCutcheon injured his right thumb and Saints LB Sedrick Hodge had a mild concussion.

Chargers leading receiver Curtis Conway aggravated a shoulder injury against the Dolphins. Chargers cornerback Ryan McNeil hurt his right forearm, and tackle Ed Ellis also left on a cart with a high right ankle sprain.

Bills CB Antoine Winfield injured his lower right leg against the Jets, while Jets RB Richie Anderson sprained his left ankle.

Tampa Bay quarterback Brad Johnson was poked in the right eye during the Buccaneers’ first possession against the Packers.

Green Bay offensive lineman Chad Clifton left the game with a right hip injury after Warren Sapp put a hard hit on him.

Vikings running back Michael Bennett strained his right calf against the Patriots. Jacksonville safety Donovin Darius bruised his left shoulder against the Cowboys.

Dallas special teams player Randal Williams had a concussion.
