Woods poised for move

Japan's Yokoo leads Dunlop Phoenix

? Finally, somebody found a weakness in Tiger Woods’ game. And it turned out to be Tiger.

Woods, playing in his first tournament since the Tour Championship earlier this month, had everything in place in the second round of the $1.65 million Dunlop Phoenix Open on Friday.

Everything, that is, except his short game.

Putting troubles cost Woods several birdie opportunities and he had to settle for a 3-under-par 68 that followed his par-71 in the first round and left him eight strokes behind leader Kaname Yokoo of Japan.

“I hit some good putts but misread a couple and that added up to a lot of missed putts,” Woods said. “If I hit the ball like I did today, and make the putts, I’ll be in good shape over the weekend.”

Yokoo had six birdies in a bogey-free 65 that left him at 11 under – four strokes ahead of Spain’s Sergio Garcia (68), England’s Justin Rose (69) and Myanmar’s Zaw Moe (67).

Woods, who is tied with Lee Westwood and Jumbo Ozaki at 3-under 139, finally broke through with a birdie on the 16th, hitting a sand wedge shot from the fairway to 6 feet.

First-round leader Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland had five birdies and six bogeys in a 72 that left him five strokes behind.

Defending champion David Duval shot his second straight 69, leaving him seven strokes back.
