GFWC Lawrence Classics announce the receipt of a grant from Wal-Mart. The grant will be used to further literacy among the children of the community. GFWC Lawrence Classics and Wal-Mart and its associates are dedicated to children and literacy.

Richard Chapelle, Lawrence Wal-Mart store manager, and Ruth Becker, Lawrence Wal-Mart green coordinator and community involvement liasion, presented a check to GFWC Lawrence Classics member Jan Moore for $400.

Lawrence Masonic Lodge No. 6 and Acacia Lodge No. 9 are sponsoring a Thanksgiving dinner for Boys and Girls Club members, staff and their families at 5 p.m. Monday.

The dinner will consist of roast turkey and all the trimmings. This will be the 10th year the Masons of the Lawrence Lodges have played host to the Thanksgiving dinner. Reservations have been made for 300 guests.
