Charles Lee McGuire

? Memorial services for Charles Lee McGuire, 52, Ottawa, will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Bristol United Methodist Church, Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. McGuire died Nov. 20, 2001.

He was born March 17, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Charles and Ruby McGuire. He graduated from Washington High School in 1967. He moved to Ottawa in 2000.

Mr. McGuire had owned and operated a business in Olathe. He worked for animal control at the Olathe Police Department from 1981 until he retired in 1994. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked on the flight deck of the USS America during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 869 and a former member of the Teamsters union.

He married Candy Brown in 2000 in Hawaii. She survives of Ottawa.

Other survivors include his parents, Kansas City, Kan.; and two sisters, Marsha Burgess and Nedra Thomas, both of Kansas City, Kan.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

The family suggests memorials to Lloyd’s Dog and Horse, the Charles Lee McGuire Trust at Leavenworth National Cemetery or 4-H, sent in care of Candy Brown, 2405 Nevada Road, Ottawa 66067.
