William O. Brownlee

? Memorial services for William O. Brownlee, 73, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Sedalia Community Church, Manhattan.

Mr. Brownlee died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at his home.

He was born April 27, 1929, in Lawrence, the son of William O. and Laverne Brownlee. He graduated from Lawrence High School, where he was a four-year letterman in basketball and football, and he was a 1950 graduate of Kansas State University.

After college, Mr. Brownlee farmed in the Zenith area until 1962, when he and his family moved to Paola. He then worked at Miami County National Bank, now TeamBank N.A. He continued his banking career in Richmond, Mo., as president of First National Charter Bank. He later formed Somerset Exchange, a Kansas City-based realty company.

He married Phyllis Greenough of Solomon in 1950. They later divorced. In 1980, he married Barbara Riniker.

Survivors include his wife, Kansas City, Mo.; his former wife, Lawrence; a brother, Jerry, Hico, Tex.; two daughters, Linda Patterson, Topeka, and Patty Zender, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Jim, Oak Hill, Va.; and Doug, Olathe; and 13 grandchildren.

Mr. Brownlee’s body was donated to Kansas University Medical Center.
