Jessica Rae Meyer

Topeka ? Memorial Mass for Jessica Rae Meyer, 11, Topeka, will be at 7 p.m. today at Most Pure Heart Catholic Church, Topeka.

Jessica died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She was cremated.

She was born Nov. 29, 1990, in Fort Huachuca, Ariz., the daughter of James and Jennifer (Kapnik) Meyer.

Jessica was in sixth grade at French Middle School. She was a straight-A student and active in Girl Scouts.

Survivors include her father, Redwood City, Calif.; her mother of the home; a sister, Rebecca Shae Herring, of the home; adoptive maternal grandparents, Jim and Esta Kapnik, Wichita; and biological maternal grandmother Lenita Rose, Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to the Jessica Meyer Memorial Fund or Topeka Humane Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence.
