Cookbooks, Web sites provide information about veganism

There is a wealth of information about veganism available on the Internet and in bookstores.

Two good vegan cookbooks are: “How It All Vegan: Irresistible Recipes for an Animal-Free Diet” by Tanya Barnard and Sarah Kramer; and “Vegan Vittles: Recipes Inspired by the Critters of Farm Sanctuary” by Joanne Stepaniak.

Two helpful sources of information about veganism are the Web sites for The Vegetarian Resource Group (www.vrg.org/) and Vegan.com (www.vegan.com/).

The Community Mercantile Co-op, 901 Iowa, carries a wide selection of vegan products, including cookies, candy bars, nondairy frozen desserts, cheeses, milks and meat alternatives.
