Lucille Jackson
Gardner ? Services for Lucille Jackson, 86, Gardner, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. Private burial will be later in DeSoto Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Baldwin Care Center.
She was born May 29, 1916, in DeSoto, the daughter of John Lee and Alice Gordon Blaylock. She grew up in DeSoto and graduated from DeSoto High School in 1935. A lifelong Johnson County resident, she moved in 1969 to Spring Hill and in 1997 to Gardner.
Mrs. Jackson worked at the Johnson County Clerk’s Office and the family restaurant, B&B Cafe, both in Olathe. She was a former member of DeSoto Eastern Star Chapter No. 78 and a 50-year member of Gardner Eastern Star Chapter No. 236. She was also a member of OURS Dance Club in Lawrence and a volunteer with the Johnson County Election Board, Johnson County Fair and Gardner Senior Citizens.
She married Chuck Freeman. He died in 1952. She later married Paul Jackson, who died in 1999.
Survivors include two sisters, Maye Kafer, Coos Bay, Ore., and Merle Holladay, Eudora, nieces and nephews.
