Cummings services

? She was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Banner, the daughter of Ralph and Yuba (Flynn) Wildes. She grew up and attended school in Banner and graduated from WaKeeney High School in 1941. She attended Fort Hays State University.

Mrs. Cummings worked at an Atchison car dealership, where she met her husband. She lived in Denver before moving to a farm near Baldwin, then later moved into town.

She was a secretary for the maintenance department at Baker University and a clerk for the city of Baldwin. She retired in 1996 as a secretary for the universityâÂÂs football department.

Mrs. Cummings was a member of Ives Chapel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Garden Club of Baldwin. She volunteered at the Baldwin Care Center kitchen and the city and elementary school libraries, and she served as treasurer for the Community Emergency Fund.

She married David Myron Cummings on May 3, 1947, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He died in 1974.

Survivors include a daughter, Mylinda Wilhite, Baldwin; a brother, Loren Wildes, Manhattan; a sister, Loree Acheson, Palco; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Baldwin.
