Dwight Eldon Freeman

? Graveside services for Dwight Eldon Freeman, 92, Emporia, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Patio Garden in Maplewood-Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.

Mr. Freeman died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

He was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Chase County, the son of Roy E. and Annie M. (Silver) Freeman. A retired businessman, Mr. Freeman worked for J.C. Penney Co. Inc. from 1933 to 1965. He spent several years in Junction City as well as Lawrence. After retiring, he moved to Emporia where he purchased Freeman’s Inc., which he owned and operated until 1977. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the First Christian Church, Emporia.

He married Pauline Foster on Nov. 24, 1938, in Emporia. She died April 1, 2001.

Survivors include a son, Douglas, Bartlesville, Okla.; and a grandson.
