Area sex offenders up for parole
Two men convicted of separate sex crimes in Douglas and Jefferson counties will soon be up for parole.
George H. Pelletier, 64, was convicted in 1990 in Douglas County on two counts of indecent liberties with a child. He is serving six to 20 years in Lansing Correctional Facility.
Mark E. Johnson, 39, was convicted in 1994 in Jefferson County on one count of indecent liberties with a child. He is serving three to 10 years at Norton Correctional Facility.
Johnson and Pelletier will have hearings in December.
The Kansas Parole Board plans public comment sessions concerning prisoners who will soon be up for parole:
