Services for Dorothy Mae Hiddleston Weeks, 85, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in DeSoto.

Mrs. Weeks died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Neodesha, the daughter of Robert Benjamine and Florence Viola (Freeman) Beard. She lived in Fredonia until she moved with her family to Lafontaine in 1923. She lived in several states until she moved to Lawrence in 1960. She attended school at Pittsburg State Teachers College.

Mrs. Weeks operated Vinland Grocery Store for five years, worked at Lawrence Laundry from 1952 to 1955, Lawrence Memorial Hospital from 1955 to 1965, and retired in 1975 from Hallmark Cards, where she had worked for 10 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Pittsburg, Good Sam Motor Club and NCHA Motor Club.

She married Ralph Hiddleston on Jan. 23, 1938. He died May 5, 1965. She then married Fred Edward Weeks on Aug. 7, 1965. He died in November 1975.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Jean Grammer, Lawrence, Sharon Sue Bunce, Lecompton, and Isse Grace Bateman, Perry; a son, Robert Rex Hiddleston, Lawrence; a brother, Floyd Beard, Lee's Summit, Mo.; a sister, Bessie Blackwell, Pittsburg; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
