Evan Barnes will do anything for his dog - even if it means becoming a human dog bowl.
The 7-year-old Lawrence boy allows his dog, Moses, to lick ice cream out of his mouth. If you donâÂÂt believe it, you can watch it tonight on âÂÂAnimal PlanetâÂÂs Funniest Animalsâ cable television show.
Evan and Moses have been doing this trick for about a year, Evan said.
âÂÂIt doesnâÂÂt matter what kind of ice cream. He likes to lick my mouth,â Evan said.
Moses, a 13-year-old poodle mix, gets his ice cream fix when Evan lies down on the floor and puts scoops of ice cream in his mouth. The dog then licks the ice cream until itâÂÂs gone.
âÂÂTheyâÂÂre buddies,â was all EvanâÂÂs mom, Michelle Barnes, said about the duoâÂÂs relationship.
Several months ago the Barneses got out the video camera and taped the ice cream feed they titled, âÂÂThe Human Dog Bowl.â EvanâÂÂs sister, Carly, 9, also gets into the act. She scoops the ice cream into her brotherâÂÂs mouth. Moses unhesitatingly takes over from there.
The Barneses sent the tape to Animal Planet and later received a check for $100 and a T-shirt. But they didnâÂÂt know until Wednesday evening the tape would be aired on the television show. ThatâÂÂs when someone from the show called to inform them, Michelle Barnes said.
The show will air at 8 p.m. tonight on Animal Planet, Sunflower Broadband Channel 40.
âÂÂItâÂÂs exciting,â Evan said.
