Fort Leavenworth :quot; Graveside services for Miller Anderson, 88, Baldwin, will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Baldwin Care Center.
He was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Tracy, Mo., the son of Joseph Henry and Lina Lee (Bradley) Anderson. He moved with his family to Kansas City, Mo., where he attended school. He graduated from Baker University.
Mr. Anderson was a captain in the U.S. Air Force-Retired. He served with the Air Training Command as a bombardier instructor and overseas with the 16th Bomb Group, 20AF, as a crew bombardier. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, both in Kansas City, Mo., and a member of Retired Officers Assn. He retired from the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department in 1979, where he had worked as a civilian clerk with the radio maintenance unit. He was a member of Heart of America Genealogical Society, Pace Genealogical Society of America and First United Methodist Church in Baldwin. He had been a member of Zeta Chi Fraternity at Baker.
Survivors include a daughter, Storme Gale, Denver; a sister, Mary Buck, Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Baker University Memorial Endowment or Zeta Chi Education Foundation, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
