Lorene E. Roberts

She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Bendena, the daughter of Arthur and Goldie (Laverentz) Albers. She lived in the Bendena/Denton area and graduated from Bendena High School and Highland Community College.

Mrs. Roberts taught at Laverentz and Denton schools. She was a member of Denton United Methodist Church, U.M.W. Auxiliary of the church, Huron O.E.S., a charter member of Denton Sewing Club and Cheerio H.D.U.

She married Thomas J. Roberts on March 6, 1944, in Atchison. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, James Roberts, Lawrence, and Paul Roberts, Denton; two daughters, Kathy Batenic, Wilmington, Del., and Beverly Nelson, Peachtree City, Ga.; two brothers, A. Warren Albers, St. Joseph, Mo., and Wayne Albers, Bendena; three sisters, Dorothy Scholz, Horton, Marilyn Oltjen, Hiawatha, and Janice Dahl, Broken Arrow, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A granddaughter, Teresa Roberts, died earlier.

Friends may call after noon today at Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
