Alouettes tighten security

? The CFL’s Montreal Alouettes plan to tighten security for their next playoff game, but insist the move does not stem from last weekend, when a fan attacked a player on the field in Winnipeg.

Alouettes president Skip Prince said Monday the stronger measures come mostly in response to last year’s Grey Cup in Montreal in which fans went on the field at the end of the game.

“We’ve been working on how we can try and eliminate that,” Prince said.

On Sunday, a fan in Winnipeg ran to the middle of the field and jumped on B.C. Lions cornerback Eric Carter during the West Division semifinal. Carter shook off the man before being assisted by a dozen players from both teams.
