The University Bridge Club announces winners of its Nov. 2 game that was given by Hank and Dottie Miller.

Blue winners were Hank Miller, first; Al Smith, second; Phil Pestinger, third; Paul Jordan, fourth; and Theda Pierson, fifth.

Pink winners were Dottie Miller, first; Willie Stoltenberg, second; Jean Whitaker, third; Gini Wigington, fourth; and Florence McNicoll, fifth.

The Lawrence 299er’s Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 30 for its weekly game. Six tables competed in a stratified game that used a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

In North-South, Everard Hughes and Kriz Hughes placed first in A, B and C. Olivier Urruty and Chuck Hedges placed second in A and B. In East-West, Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman finished first in A, B and C. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty took second in A and B. Frances Vogel and Dorothy Arth finished second in C.

The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club met Nov. 1 for its weekly game. The stratified game attracted seven tables and was directed by Don Brennaman. Sitting North-South, Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough finished first in A. Erna Holmes and Fran Vogel took second. Shirley Vaughn and Virginia Eddy placed third in A and first in B. Chris Lane and Klee Zaricky were second in B. Don Daugherty and Harry Talley finished first in C.

Playing East-West, Olivier Urruty and Chuck Hedges finished first in A, B and C. Jim Gunn and Harry Shaffer took second in A. Wanda Durbin and Julia Brooks placed third in A.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club had its weekly game Monday. Nine tables competed in a stratified game using a Mitchell movement. Virginia Seaver directed the game.

Playing North-South, Don Brennaman and Olivier Urruty finished first in A and B. Russell LaForce and Harry Shaffer took second. Third in A and second in B went to Chuck Hedges and Betty Collier. Gladys Turner and Max Turner placed fourth in A and Pat Burgstahler and Martie Hartman finished first in C.

Sitting East-West, Vince Russo and Terry Tolar placed first in A. Donna Johnson and Paul Heitzman placed second. Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor took third and Virginia Seaver came in fourth. Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee finished first in B. Billie Brandon and Gladys Dight placed first in C.

The Lawrence Barn Dance Assn. will have a family barn dance at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ecumenical Christian Ministries building, 1204 Oread Ave. The caller will be Jill Allen. Music will be provided by area musicians.

A potluck dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring two dishes per family, drinking cups and tableware.
