It was the first game on the All-Stars’ 13-game schedule. Corey Andrews scored 17 points and former Kansas University player Adonis Jordan 15 points off 6-of-10 shooting for the All-Stars. Jordan had five assists and eight turnovers.

Other marquee games on the All-Stars’ slate include Xavier, Louisville, Florida, Georgia and UCLA.

Kansas has won 16 straight home exhibition games dating to a 93-82 loss to Australia on Nov. 29, 1993.

The Jayhawks are 30-7 all-time in exhibition play, including a record of 23-5 under Roy Williams. In addition, Williams’ teams have gone 23-2 in home exhibition action. KU hasn’t lost an exhibition game since a 101-93 setback to Lisbonne Benfica on Dec. 28, 1995, in Strausbourg, France.

This marks the fifth straight season KU has played the All-Stars in the preseason. Kansas is 4-0 against the All-Stars, winning the four games by an average score of 104-87. Last season KU beat the All-Stars, 98-77, on Nov. 7 in Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks boast a pair of preseason All-America candidates in guard Kirk Hinrich and forward Nick Collison. Likely to join Hinrich and Collison in the starting lineup are sophomores Aaron Miles, Keith Langford and Wayne Simien. Miles started 36 games last season at point guard, while Langford and Simien were the Jayhawks’ biggest weapons off the bench.

EA Sports forward D.J. Harrison competed against the Jayhawks for two straight years while at Colorado. Harrison is 0-5 all-time against KU, and scored 56 career points against the Jayhawks. Brian Jones played against Kansas twice while at Santa Clara 1996 and 1997. He is 0-1 in Allen Fieldhouse and 0-2 overall against the Jayhawks. Former Pepperdine forward Kelvin Gibbs is 0-3 all-time against KU and 0-2 while playing in the Fieldhouse. His best game against Kansas came in the 1998 game, when he scored 15 points.
