Injury Roundup: Seattle’s Brown out with broken right foot

The Seattle Seahawks lost veteran linebacker Chad Brown for the rest of the season after he broke his right foot during the second quarter of Sunday’s 14-3 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Brown will have surgery today.

The Seahawks (2-6) have been hit hard by injuries. They lost quarterback Trent Dilfer for the season when he tore his right Achilles’ tendon against Dallas last week. Wide receiver Darrell Jackson sat out Sunday with a concussion.

Seattle safety Marcus Robertson left with a concussion in the first quarter and didn’t return.

Raiders defensive end Tony Bryant was carted off the field with a spine injury during overtime of Oakland’s 23-20 loss to San Francisco.

Bryant fell hard on the Coliseum grass 5:50 into OT, but he was able to move his arms and legs. He was taken to a hospital for observation, and the Raiders said he had feeling in his extremities.

Browns quarterback Tim Couch cut his right hand on a facemask in the second quarter of Cleveland’s 23-20 loss to Pittsburgh. X-rays were negative, but Couch spent an unusually long period of time getting treatment afterward.

The Browns also lost running back Jamel White (shoulder) and three defensive players: linebacker Kevin Bentley (hyperextended elbow, broken right hand), end Kenard Lang (ankle) and tackle Gerard Warren (foot).

Steelers defensive back Mike Logan injured his hamstring.

The Cardinals lost wide receiver MarTay Jenkins with a broken shoulder blade in the first quarter against St. Louis.

Among other injuries around the NFL, Titans safety Lance Schulters separated his left shoulder against the Colts and is questionable for next week; Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister sprained his ankle against Baltimore; Eagles linebacker Levon Kirkland sprained a knee against the Bears; Chicago fullback Daimon Shelton sprained an ankle; and the Vikings lost offensive lineman Corbin Lacina and wide receiver Derrick Alexander to knee sprains.
