DNA evidence leads to murder charge
Kansas City, Mo. ? A search of a DNA database led to a murder charge against a convicted rapist now accused of strangling a woman whose body was found in a van at a Salvation Army parking lot.
Albert Davis Jr., 40, of Kansas City was charged Friday with rape, sodomy and second-degree murder in the death of Terry M. Ocasio. Ocasio, 36, had lived on the streets of Kansas City and with her mother in Gardner, Kan. In August, a Salvation Army worker found her body in a van.
Police arrested Davis after learning on Thursday that a sample from Ocasio’s body matched Davis’ DNA.
