From the Lawrence Daily World of Nov. 3, 1902: “On the eve of the election, this paper desires to make a final appeal to all parties to vote for Congressman Bowersock. This does not mean that he is in danger, for he is not. It simply means that Douglas County ought to have loyalty enough about it to support the home candidate who has done so much for the people. Mr. Bowersock has been hard working congressman and has always been found in his seat doing his duty. He ought to have a unanimous vote in Lawrence and Douglas County.”
