E. Winona Dingman

She was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Lawrence, the daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Stewart) Olson. She was a graduate of Liberty Memorial High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Kansas University in 1939.

Mrs. Dingman was a homemaker and formerly had worked at Watson Library and KU printing services until retirement in 1986.

She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church. She was also a member of Doll Club and Bear with Us Bear Club, both of Lawrence; MO-KAN Teddy Bear Club, Kansas City, Mo.; Social Order of Beauceant No. 25, Lawrence; Adah Chapter No. 7, Order of the Eastern Star, Lawrence; Order of the White Shrine Jerusalem No. 11, Lawrence; Toltec, Topeka; and Friendship Lodge No. 754, Rebekahs, Lawrence.

She married John Dingman on Nov. 24, 1942, in Lawrence. He died in September 1973.

Survivors include two sons, John Dingman Jr., Hutchinson, and Robert Dingman, Eudora; a daughter, Karen Dingman, Topeka; a brother, Kenneth Olson, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Dorothy Housworth, died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Knights Templar Eye Foundation or to Plymouth Congregational Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
