Mulvane ? Rob Musgrove struck out 17 Andover Central batters in a complete-game two-hitter Friday afternoon, leading Santa Fe Trail to a 1-0 victory in the first round of the Class 4A state baseball tournament.

The sophomore improved to 11-0 despite cold, windy conditions. Musgrove, who entered state with an ERA of 0.24, had shut out Ottawa in a 14-strikeout performance at regionals in his previous start.

On Friday, SFT scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth. Brandon Elston singled, and Bryan Ganger drove him in with a double. The Chargers (21-3) will face Kansas City Ward (14-8) today at a time to be announced.
