Jill and Roger Fincher, Lawrence, announce the birth of their son, Louis Andrew Fincher, born May 1, 2002, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. Grandparents are Bruce and Marcia Plankinton, Breckenridge, Colo., and Kenneth and Reva Fincher, Junction City.

Derek and Kandy Sunderman, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter Rachel Cheyanne Sunderman, born Feb. 27, 2002, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee. She joins sisters Brandi and Savannah. Grandparents are Drue and Cleve Evans, Abilene, Tex., and Ron and Bletta Sunderman, Hatfield, Ark. Great-grandparents are Velma Lee, Cross Plains, Tex.; Lela and Charlie Aleshire, Cove, Ark., and Climeth and Juanita Layman, West Plains, Mo.

Mandy Johns will give a senior music recital at 5 p.m. today in Lawrence High School’s choir room. She has been a member of the LHS Marching Lions and LHS Concert Band for three years, and LHS Symphonic Band for two years. She also has participated in the Washburn Flute Choir, Topeka Youth Symphony and Washburn Youth Wind Ensemble. She was a member of the Northeast District Honor Band. She has competed in both regional and state solo and ensemble competitions for the past three years. She is a student of Joy Laird, Lawrence, and has accepted scholarships to study flute performance and music education at Washburn University. Mandy is the daughter of Henry and Karen Johns, Lawrence.

Graduates of Eudora High School are invited to attend the Eudora High School Alumni Assn.’s banquet and yearly meeting June 2 in the Eudora High School commons area. Registration begins at noon. The covered-dish dinner will start at 12:30 p.m., followed by the business meeting.

Special recognition will be given to the class of 1952, which will celebrate its 50th reunion.

The Fleming-Bailey-Rice 48th annual reunion will be at 1 p.m. June 2 at the North Marina Shelter House, Pomona Lake. Members are asked to bring a basket dinner, drinks and table service.

Jeffrey Clinger, Tonganoxie, received a bachelor’s degree in religion from Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln, Neb.
