A veteran Lawrence principal will leave her job at Wakarusa Valley School to take over management of Riverside School.

Linda Rogers, who has been at Wakarusa Valley for 10 years, said Friday that she was making the shift because it was simply time to make a change.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to move to Riverside for the coming school year, and am looking forward to this new challenge,” she said.

She replaces David Theilen, who will leave Riverside to be the new principal at Schwegler School.

Schwegler’s principal, Jane Ziegler, resigned after less than a year on the job.

Supt. Randy Weseman said the Lawrence district would conduct a search for a new principal at Wakarusa Valley.
