Old home town – 100 years ago today

On May 12, 1902, the Lawrence World said, “The ladies may be great gossips, but so are the men. It is usual for men to discuss the private life of each other in the most free and flippant manner. Men gossip more than women. They are also more suspicious. They see evil in everything. The average man has no confidence in his fellow man. This is wrong. It pays to keep your good opinion of your race. It pays to be decent of yourself and then not think you are the only decent man in the country. There are lots of good men, men true in character, honest in purpose and loyal to their life’s principles.”
