Colorado adds more elk licenses

? The Colorado Wildlife Commission has increased the number of antlerless elk licenses as part of the Division of Wildlife’s efforts to reduce the state’s elk population.

The Division will make nearly 123,000 antlerless and either-sex elk licenses available to hunters for the upcoming season, an increase of 14,000 from 2001.

Additionally, the price of an antlerless elk license for nonresident hunters has been reduced from $450 to $250 to encourage more nonresidents to hunt cows.

Colorado has more elk than any state or Canadian province.
