Hobbs services

Baldwin Memorial visitation for Tomm Hobbs, 52, Wellsville, will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Baldwin. He was cremated.

Dr. Hobbs died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at KU Med, Kansas City, Kan. He had lived in the Baldwin and Wellsville area since 1988, moving there from the Kansas City area.

He was born Dec. 15, 1949, in Fond du Lac, Wis., the son of Richard and Joan (Eaton) Hobbs. He grew up and attended school in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1967. He attended Cleveland Chiropractic College, Kansas City, Mo., graduating with a doctorate of chiropractic medicine in 1984.

In addition to working as a chiropractor, he also practiced applied kinesiology, acupuncture and dietary nutrition.

Mr. Hobbs was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lawrence, American Board of Disability Analysts, Acupuncture Society of American, Kansas Chiropractic Assn. and Missouri Chiropractic Assn.

He married Carol Sue Strong in 1974, in Fond du Lac, Wis. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Heidi Gilges, Edgerton, and Heather Landie, Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Chad R., Lawrence; his mother, Stockton, Mo.; a sister, Gayle Hobbs, Eureka Springs, Ark.; and a granddaughter.

The family suggests memorials to the Dr. Tomm Hobbs Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
