Chicago ? Kevin Wheeler went 4-for-4, including a home run and a double, to lead a 16-hit attack as Kansas University’s baseball team defeated Illinois-Chicago, 8-4, Tuesday night.

Cole Armstrong also homered for KU as the Jayhawks built an 8-1 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. Tom Gorzelanny (1-6) allowed just one run on six hits in five innings to record his first victory of the season.

The Jayhawks (18-23) will meet Illinois-Chicago again at 1 p.m. today.
