National Volunteer Week participants are sought

Clean a local park. Coordinate a penny drive. Collect food and clothing donations.

These are just a few activities the Roger Hill Volunteer Center suggests that individuals or groups in the Douglas County community could undertake to participate in National Volunteer Week, April 21-27.

The week is designated as a time to recognize and celebrate the efforts of local, state and national volunteers.

The theme for the 29th annual event is “Celebrate the American Spirit  Volunteer!”

All groups or organizations who participate by volunteering during the week and registering with the volunteer center will receive a recognition certificate.

For more ideas on ways to volunteer or to get help planning an activity, contact the volunteer center at 865-5030 or rhvc@ixks.com.
