Tonganoxie ? He was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Tonganoxie, the son of Claude Sr. and Elnora (Wash) Brown.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.

Mr. Brown retired in 1989, from Farmland Industries, Lawrence.

He attended God & Christ Pentecostal Church, Lawrence.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest W. Jr., Overland Park, and Brian E., Lawrence; a daughter, Ernestine Jarrett, Lawrence; a sister, Callie Murray, Kansas City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
