She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Lawrence, the daughter of Irvin S. and Etta A. (Pence) Flory. She worked for Trans World Airlines in Kansas City and for 20 years at the Medical Arts Pharmacy in Lawrence. She was then secretary for the USD 497 dietitian for 25 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Autumn Club.

She married Elbert “Buck” Sanders on June 27, 1947, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Gregory Dean, Lawrence; a brother, Orville C. Flory, Lawrence; a sister, Lois B. Gish, Lawrence; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials in her name to the Hospice Care of Douglas County or Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
