The Clinton Eagles 4-H Club met March 4. Members answered roll call by saying what their initials spelled. Kirstyn Heine and Sandina Oxford led the club in a song.

Junior leaders were recognized.

Donald Baldwin provided a treasurer’s report and discussed the proper way to submit a bill to the club for reimbursement.

The leader report was given by Lanaea Heine. She recognized the following members who performed during Regional Club Days: Melissa Richardson and Jessica Newman, vocal music ensemble; Kelsey Leinmiller-Renick, creative dramatics; and Simon Fangman, Hyrum Richardson, Nicki Snodgrass, Sandina Oxford, Kirstyn Heine, Jessica Newman, Emily Coatney, Melissa Richardson, Kahlyn Heine, Alison Richardson, Haven Bouton and Melissa Colgan, club skit.

Melissa Colgan, Michelle Colgan, Kahlyn Heine and Marilyn Colgan were recognized for being judges at Shawnee County Club Days. The club participated in a Club Exchange with the Stull Busy Beaver 4-H Club. Vern Richardson gave a foods meeting report.

Haven Bouton announced that the club will serve at LINK on April 27.

The Finance Committee presented the club’s 2002 budget. It was adopted as presented.

Members voted to sell Taste of the Town cards. Cards were distributed to be sold. The club also will pursue an opportunity to have a concession stand at the Swap Meet.

Chris Gaston gave a presentation about airplanes, and Sandina Oxford gave a presentation about her cat.

Simon Fangman and Hyrum Richardson led the club in recreational activity.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Wakarusa Valley School. It will be Junior Officers’ Night.

The Vinland Valley 4-H Club met March 4 in the Vinland Elementary School gymnasium. It was parents night. The parents conducted the meeting. The flag salute was led by Judith Emde. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite college basketball team.

Members decided to use the 50-year logo, designed by the Schwager family, for the club T-shirts.

Members of the sheep project talked about the health of their animals. Woodworking project members discussed what they are constructing for the Douglas County Free Fair. The Foods Level I project members, dressed in costumes, gave a demonstration talk on how to make “Bow Wow Puppy Chow.”

Club members had a concession stand March 23 at the Rabbit Show.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Vinland Elementary gymnasium.
