Hinton wins all-star match

? Baldwin High senior Witt Hinton, a Class 4A state wrestling champion, defeated Mark Kline of Kansas City Turner, 9-7 in overtime, in a 275-pound match at the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Assn. East/West Classic at Topeka High on Thursday.

Hinton was on the winning West squad, which rallied for a thrilling 30-29 dual victory over the East.

Kline was a Class 5A runner-up in February.

At 189 pounds, Olathe South senior Justin Dyer, manhandled Minneapolis’ Jeff Mortimer, 16-1. Dyer, a three-time state champion, will wrestle at Oklahoma next year.
