Pearl Nadine Baker

Graveside services for Pearl Nadine Baker, 74, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Severy Cemetery.

Ms. Baker died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Fall Leaf, the daughter of Walter Clarence and Hazel B. (Castleman) Ludwick. She had lived in the Emporia area before moving to Lawrence in the early 1950s.

Ms. Baker worked in the handwork department as a tip master for Hallmark Cards in Emporia and in Lawrence until her retirement in 1992.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge, Lawrence.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Kay Baker, Lawrence; two sons, Ronald W. Baker and Douglas A. Baker, both of Lawrence; a brother, Dale Ludwick, Cornelius, Ore.; three sisters, Georgia St. Clair, Forest Grove, Ore., Pauline Kelly, Birmingham, Ala., and Marie Majors, Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
