Carrie Elizabeth Gruver

Peculiar, Mo. Graveside services for Carrie Elizabeth Gruver, 77, Harrisonville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peculiar Cemetery.

Mrs. Gruver died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Life Care Center, Grandview, Mo.

She was born July 2, 1924, in Pittsburg, Kan., the daughter of George Henry and Margaret (McIntre) Scholes. She moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1954. She lived there until moving to Harrisonville in 1972.

Mrs. Gruver was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.

She married Lawrence Charles Abram Gruver on Oct. 20, 1941. He died in 1982.

Survivors include four sons, James Gruver, Donald C. Gruver and Thomas F. Gruver, all of Harrisonville, and Lawrence C. Gruver, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, JoAnn Myrick, Jerico Springs, and Mary Sewing, Lawrence, Kan.; three brothers, Charles Scholes, Bill Scholes and Jim Scholes, all of Pittsburg, Kan.; a sister, Naomi Scholes, Pittsburg, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
