Arts funding

Funding for the arts in Kansas also promotes tourism, an economic activity that the state can ill afford to lose. Ironically, the Kansas Arts Commission is presently funding a project to document all the murals in Kansas  with tourism in mind.

The House Appropriations Committee will be meeting in the next few days to consider this proposal. The chairman of the committee is Kenny Wilk, R-Lansing, vice-chair is Melvin Neufeld, R-Ingalls, and ranking minority member is Rocky Nichols, D-Topeka. Barbara Ballard, D-Lawrence, is also on the committee. Please join us in opposing cuts in the Kansas Arts Commission funding.
