KU baseball team drops eighth straight

? Kansas University’s baseball team couldn’t overcome five errors as Texas-Pan American handed the Jayhawks their eighth straight loss, 7-2, Wednesday.

All seven of Texas-Pan American’s runs were unearned. KU starter Dan Olson fell to 3-2. Olson pitched 61/3 innings, allowing five unearned runs. KU’s Ryan Baty extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a ninth-inning double.

Texas-Pan American took a 3-0 lead in the second inning. KU plated its first run in the third inning when Brandon Shepard tripled off the right-field wall and scored on a throwing error. The Jayhawks didn’t score again until the ninth when Baty came home on an error after his double.

KU, which won 10 straight games to open the season, fell to 10-8.

The Jayhawks will return to action Friday with a 3 p.m. game against Michigan at Hoglund Ballpark.
