The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club’s March 8 game was stratified, used the Howell movement and was directed by Don Brennaman.

The winners were Yvonne Hedges and Virginia Seaver, followed by Harry Shaffer and James Gunn. Mike Montgomery and Gary Joyce placed third, followed by Don Brennaman and Barbara Hamilton. Winners of the C session were Frances Vogel and Erna Holmes, followed by Meredith Docking and Bebe Huxtable.

The North South winners were Robert Solick and Dave Piro, followed by Harry Shaffer and James Gunn. Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough placed third, followed by Eldon Herd and Glenna Herd. Mike Montgomery and Gary Joyce placed second in the B session. Barbara Hamilton and Bill Hamilton won the C session.

The East West winners were Cathy Blumenfeld and Michael Blumenfeld, followed by Don Daugherty and Harry Talley. and John Hickey placed third, followed by Shirley Reese and Chris Lane. Klee Zaricky and Betty Collier placed in the B session.

The Pilot Club of Lawrence met March 11 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Randy Wells spoke about Operation Lifesave, which concerns railroad safety, during the meeting.
