New letters policy

Letters to the Journal-World’s Public Forum are an important and enjoyable part of our Opinion Page. To accommodate as many letters as possible, the Journal-World will institute a new word limit for letters beginning March 18.

In recent months, the volume of letters to the J-W has increased significantly. That’s great, but sometimes it’s difficult to get letters into print in a timely fashion. The 250-word limit that will go into effect on March 18 should allow us to run more letters and get them in the paper more quickly. As always, letters should be of public interest and avoid name-calling and libelous language.

Letters may be submitted in person, by mail to the News Center, 645 N.H., Lawrence 66044 or by e-mail to letters@ljworld.com. Letters must bear the name, address and telephone number of the writer. The Journal-World reserves the right to edit letters.

We value our readers and enjoy providing a forum for you to share your views. We look forward to hearing from you in the future.
