Johnson paces KU in lacrosse tourney

Lindsey Johnson, a freshman from St. Louis, had seven goals in three games over the weekend to lead Kansas University’s women’s lacrosse team to a 2-1 record at Shenk Fields.

KU defeated Illinois, 10-4, and Bethel, Minn., 9-6. Its one loss was to Missouri, 5-4.

Kristen Bloom, a senior from Wichita, had five goals for KU. Amy Fortney, a senior from St. Louis, had 21 saves.

KU, 4-2 in the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse League, next will play Illinois on April 7 at Kirksville, Mo.

In men’s lacrosse on Saturday, KU beat Oklahoma State, 8-3.
