Harold R. Rhoades

He was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Hillsdale, the son of Andrew and Susan B. Walter. He attended grade school in Hillsdale and graduated from Spring Hill High School.

Mr. Rhoades was in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant and Taylor Forge before working at Delco in Olathe, where he worked for more than 25 years as a maintenance man until his 1986 retirement.

He was a member of the Ocheltree Baptist Church, Spring Hill, and the Hillsdale Ruritan Club.

He married Katherine Lorene Johnson Dec. 7, 1940, in Olathe. She died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Retherford, Merriam; two sons, Larry, Shawnee, and Carl, Wellsvile; and nine grandchildren.
