Commuter Q & A

Will Kansas Highway 10 ever be widened?

A corridor study conducted by the Kansas Department of Transportation and the Kansas Turnpike Authority a few years ago recommended, based on traffic counts and other factors, that K-10 be expanded from four to six lanes. However, it probably will be at least 10 years before that can happen, said Alan Spicer, KDOT traffic and field operations engineer, because the state did not include the project in its 10-year Comprehensive Transportation Plan passed in 1999.
