She was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Codell, the daughter of Percy C. and Eva E. (Reedy) Simpson.

Mrs. Bond was a homemaker and a rental agent for many years before retiring in 1977. She was a member of the North Lawrence Improvement Assn. and McLouth United Methodist Church, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 852.

She married Claudis J. Shackelford in 1941 in Hays. He died in 1969. She married Willis T. Bond in November 1975. He died April 5, 1990.
