Michael T. Brixey

Services for Michael T. Brixey, 48, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Brixey died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He had been a resident of Lawrence since 1990.

He was born Feb. 13, 1954, in Hayward, Calif., the son of Richard and Kathleen (Casler) Brixey.

Mr. Brixey was a musician and sound engineer. He also was the sound technician at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship and played guitar in the worship team at the church.

He married Kimberly Welty on Aug. 20, 1983, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Amanda Lee Brixey, Lawrence; four sons, Michael James, Cape Coral, Fla., and Lennon Mitchel, Rosco Richard Kristian and Connor James Andrew, all of Lawrence; his father, Shingle Springs, Calif.; two brothers, Hal, Eugene, Ore., and Rick, Folsom, Calif.; and three sisters, Terrie Brown, Hollister, Calif., Reneculac, Lake Oswego, Ore., and Rechelle Grimstead, Lawrence.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the music department at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship or to American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, sent in care of the mortuary.
