Nona Irene Clark

? She was born April 18, 1910, in Medina, the daughter of Marshall Thomas and Anna May (Hemphill) Michael. She had lived in Lawrence since 2000, moving from Perry.

Ms. Clark had worked for Kansas Power & Light for 15 years in Topeka. She also worked as an office clerk for J.C. Penney Co., Melbourne, Fla., from 1963 until her retirement in 1976. She moved back to Perry in June 1979.

She attended Perry United Methodist Church. She was a pianist and enjoyed playing the piano for many churches and nursing homes.

She married Chester D. Hunter. They were divorced. She then married James Clark. They were divorced.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Irene Hamm, Perry, and Verla Mae Galloway, Schertz, Tex.; a brother, Robert A. Michael, Derby; a sister, Virginia “Lucille” Stanclift, Lawrence; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

A granddaughter died earlier.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today.
