He was born July 20, 1931, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of William Arthur Morse Sr. and Lillie Mae (Pike) Morse.

A self-employed auto mechanic, Mr. Morse had moved from Denver to Lawrence in July 1983.

He was a member of the Catholic church.

Survivors include a son, Tony, of California; and two daughters, Patricia Morse and Roberta Morse, both of California.
