Let me be the first to say to our legislators  GO HOME! It should come as no surprise that the state has found itself in a budget shortfall with the kind of thinking these bills represent. They can only be considered socialist in nature and, had they passed, would likely run both taxpayers and businesses out of the state in horror. If this is the nature of lawmaking today, Kansas will soon find itself at the bottom of the economic barrel. Perhaps our legislature can recess early this year, giving our legislators time to read an economic text or two at their leisure. Running off taxpayers will do little to close a budget gap no doubt spawned by this same type of thinking.
