Bullock-Steiner

Jody Bullock and Brian Steiner, both of Lawrence, were married Sept. 29, 2001, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence with Father Charles Polifka officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roger Tuckel and Pam Smith, both of Lawrence. The groom is the son of John and JoAnn Steiner, Great Bend.

Matron of honor was Jennifer Meats. Best man was Aaron Spanier.

Bridesmaids were Carrie Catt and Michelle Miller. Groomsmen were Bob Hillman and Bryon Foos.

Alexis Miller was flowergirl. Nicolas Bullock was ringbearer. Troy Steiner and Ben Tuckel were ushers. Casey Tuckel was candlelighter and guest book attendant. Barbara Tuckel-Wolford handed out bubbles and scrolls. Debra Steiner performed a trumpet solo.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Ramada Inn in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1989 Lawrence High School graduate. She earned an associate’s degree in early childhood education in 2001 from Johnson County Community College. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Kansas University. She is employed at Kohl’s Department Store in Lawrence.

The groom is a 1988 Great Bend High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1994 from Kansas State University. He is an architect and project manager at George Butler and Associates, Lenexa.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Woelfel-Gowen

Sarah Judith Woelfel and Matthew Francis Gowen, both of Mission, were married Oct. 27, 2001, at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Sharon Howell and Dr. James Woelfel officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James Woelfel and Sarah Trulove, Lawrence, and Judy Dutton, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Marianne Gowen and the late James A. “Tony” Gowen.

Matron of honor was Allegra Joerke. Best man was Paul Gowen. Bridesmaids were Carey O’Connor and Tara O’Neill. Groomsmen were Jason Patchen and Brad Stoll.

Skye Woelfel was guest book attendant. Jessica Hamilton was program attendant. Annie Gowen and Maureen Gowen were readers. Joe Pickett and Chris DeVictor were ushers. Toni Gowen and Ally Gowen attended the bubble baskets. The Lawrence Womens Chorale sang.

A reception followed the ceremony at Pachamama’s New World Cuisine in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1989 Lawrence High School graduate. She earned a bachelor’s degree in drama from Trinity University in 1993. She received a master’s degree at the University of Texas in 1997. She is a communications manager at HNTB Corporation in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom is a 1990 Lawrence High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas University in 1995. He is a creative writer for Hallmark Cards Inc. in Kansas City, Mo.

The couple reside in Mission.
