Raiders roll

? The Lawrence Raiders used two big innings and 31 hits to pummel the Bartlesville Cubs in both ends of an 18-and-under American Legion baseball doubleheader on Saturday.

The Raiders used a 10-run sixth to subdue the Cubs, 17-5, in the first game, then plated eight runs in the fifth inning of a 12-4 rout in the nightcap.

Both games were shortened by the run rule.

“It was nice,” Raiders skipper Carl Brooks said. “We’ve won three in a row, all by the run rule. Tonight, we did what we’re capable of doing. We really swung the bats well.”
